Alex Jimenez has been suspended by Bournemouth following allegations that had exchanged inappropriate messages with a teenage girl.
Screenshots showing a text exchange between Jimenez, 21, and the 15-year-old were posted on social media on Friday.
One message also included a selfie of Jimenez together with a suggestive caption. There isn’t a suggestion the footballer ever met the girl.
Bournemouth have now launched an investigation and have confirmed that Jimenez won’t be included of their squad for his or her Premier League game against Fulham on Saturday.
A press release from Bournemouth on Friday afternoon read: ‘AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back, Alex Jimenez.
‘The club understand the seriousness of the matter and it’s currently being investigated.
‘In consequence, Alex won’t be included within the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Fulham and the club might be making no further comment at the moment.’
