NHL Network: Elliotte Friedman, when asked concerning the Dallas Stars and pending RFA Jason Robertson. He could also be in search of something that starts with a 12. Will the Stars meet it, and can they must do some roster shuffling to suit it in?

And, , it appeared like mid-season, all things would lead towards, yes, he’s going to re-sign there. Why wouldn’t he? Why wouldn’t he wish to? Why wouldn’t they wish to? But are, is that going to be realistic for the Dallas Stars to have the option to fulfill his expectations on this negotiation?

Friedman: “You realize why, Kathryn, after watching the playoffs, I don’t understand how they will’t. Like, , he, like he was, I give Jason Robertson a variety of credit, since the Stars principally said to him this yr, show me. Show us. And he did.
He was, like he is perhaps a primary All-Star team guy at the top of the yr. He scored 40 goals. He had an amazing season. He had five goals in six games within the playoffs, and a team that basically had trouble scoring. He did every little thing that was asked of him.
And the one way I can see it not happening is that if, for some reason, he just decides he doesn’t wish to be there anymore. And I don’t have any reason to imagine that. I feel the Dallas, I feel he proved what he said.
Now, I do think he wants it to start out with a 12. I feel, , (Mikko) Rantanen got $12 million. I feel he no less than wants $12 million. They usually may need to do some roster reconfiguration around that with a few of the other.
But when I’m the Dallas Stars straight away, I’m saying, Jason, you proved it to us, and let’s get it done.”
