Backstage News On AEW Potentially Consolidating Its Multiple Titles

Based on a report from Fightful, fans likely shouldn’t expect to see AEW consolidate a few of its championships anytime soon.

Sean Ross Sapp says he hasn’t heard of any creative discussions regarding title consolidation inside AEW. That said, he noted that “plenty of individuals” in the corporate support the concept.

It was noted that wrestlers shouldn’t be so depending on championships that they’ll’t be involved in meaningful storylines and not using a title attached. As well as, AEW has lost some “cohesiveness” relating to determining what qualifies someone for a championship opportunity.

At present, Darby Allin is the AEW World Champion, while Jon Moxley holds the Continental Championship and Kazuchika Okada is the International Champion. Mark Davis recently captured the National Title from Jack Perry over the weekend, and Kevin Knight is the reigning TNT Champion.
