Jack Perry Discusses Learning To Wrestle For TV In AEW

Before Jack Perry signed with AEW in 2019, he did not have any exposure to acting on national TV, making it a difficult transition from wrestling on the independent wrestling scene to becoming a television star at 21 years of age. Along with being one in every of the youngest wrestlers in the corporate, Perry was immediately booked against a few of the most seasoned veterans within the business, a task that the previous AEW National Champion was intimated by, but ready for.

“Yeah, it was cool. It was daunting. Especially Kenny and the Bucks, that is what I used to be into wrestling-wise at the moment. Then abruptly, it’s all these guys on a more indie level, but that I have been a giant fan of. Hastily, I’m just thrown in there … I never thought of working the cameras or anything like that, because to me, I used to be like, I’m in here with ‘Hangman’ Adam Page on my second AEW match. I gotta just hang and bang with him. So loads of it was just wanting to prove we belong here.”

Today, Perry is recognized as one in every of the “4 pillars” of AEW alongside MJF, Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara, who’re viewed because the homegrown, young stars that were positioned as the corporate’s future.
