TV actress Ankita Lokhande recently found herself on the centre of social media debate after sharing pictures from her Dubai and Abu Dhabi vacation with husband Vicky Jain. The controversy began after she posted photographs from a mosque visit in Abu Dhabi, where she wore a hijab. Ankita Lokhande Faces Backlash For Wearing Hijab
Ankita Lokhande shared a series of vacation pictures and videos from the UAE on her Instagram account. Amongst them were photos from a visit to a outstanding mosque in Abu Dhabi. As per the mosque’s guidelines for visitors, the actor covered her head with a standard scarf in the course of the visit.
Soon after the images surfaced online, a bit of social media users began trolling the actor. Some users questioned her selection of attire and compared the visit to her recent appearance at Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s Sri Sri Gaushala ashram.
Several comments appeared on social media, including: “Now tell those muslim ladies to wear sarees now,” while one other user wrote, “A few of Hindus are all the time secular but but not a single muslim is secular !!! Bitter truth!!.. they’re only muslims. .. why hijab. !!!??”
One other comment read, “Why is she wearing a hijaab?”, while one user wrote, “Jain Ho tm or Kya pahana h ye Kuch to socho.”
Ankita Lokhande Visits Gau Shala With Vicky Jain
The criticism intensified because only just a few days earlier, Ankita and Vicky Jain had visited Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s gaushala. Through the visit, the couple participated in activities akin to feeding cattle and helping across the shelter. Many fans had appreciated the actor on the time for promoting Gau Seva and traditional values.
Nevertheless, several social media users defended Ankita in the course of the latest controversy. Fans identified that wearing a headband inside mosques is a standard rule for visitors, no matter religion. Others also noted that Ankita posted multiple pictures from the identical outing without the hijab once she stepped outside the mosque premises.
This will not be the primary time Ankita Lokhande has faced criticism over similar attire. In 2025, she also drew attention online after wearing a hijab and greeting paparazzi with “Adaab” on the Mumbai airport.
