A battle between Logan Paul and the YouTuber Coffeezilla is moving forward and will end in the WWE Superstar appearing in court this month.
In 2024, Paul filed a defamation lawsuit against Coffeezilla, real name Stephen Findeisen, over a series of claims about Paul’s Cryptozoo cryptocurrency game.
The San Antonio Express-News now reports that a hearing is scheduled to happen in a San Antonio federal courtroom and may very well be as soon as this month.
The lawsuit, filed within the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, names Findeisen and his company, Coffee Break Productions LLC, as defendants.
Coffeezilla’s claims about CryptoZoo were made in a three-part series released in 2022 named “Investigating Logan Paul’s Biggest Scam.”
Paul’s legal team argues that the videos falsely portray because the mastermind behind a fraudulent cryptocurrency scheme, while omitting details.
The team adds that Paul was also a victim within the CryptoZoo currency, as he was allegedly deceived by CryptoZoo advisors Eddie Ibanez and Jake Greebaum.
In January 2023, Paul announced a buy-back program for NFT holders, and, in response to court documents, gave greater than $1 million in Ethereum.
The lawsuit adds that, despite this buy-back program, Coffeezilla continued to portray Paul as a fraudster who financially manipulated his fans.
