“There’s only been one dance partner for Tyson Fury, the Gypsy King, and that’s Anthony Joshua,” said John to Pro Boxing Fans.
Asked about the opportunity of Dana White promoting the fight, Fury backed the UFC president and Zuffa Boxing figure to handle an event of such magnitude.
“Whoever’s going to tackle that, he’ll be a lucky man since it’s a spectacle and a half. The largest fight in history. Regardless of what they are saying and what they don’t, it’ll be the most-watched fight in the entire world,” John said.
“If Dana White can get it, he’s a capable guy. He’s a great businessman. He’s a clever dude, you recognize, and he’s a brand new kid on the block, isn’t he?
“Unfortunately, like myself, older people should make way for the younger ones. Let’s be honest, they will bring latest things to the sport, can’t they? People, you recognize, what they haven’t seen before. I’m sure Dana White’s able to that.”
White has made no secret of his ambition to ascertain Zuffa Boxing as a significant player in the game. Fury and Joshua, meanwhile, have repeatedly been linked with a blockbuster meeting that has to date didn’t materialize.
With Joshua preparing for his return later this summer and White continuing to expand his boxing footprint, John Fury believes the Zuffa figure could possibly be the person to finally help bring certainly one of heavyweight boxing’s most anticipated matchups to life.
