Michael Chiesa thinks Justin Gaethje vs Conor McGregor could ‘compete’ with UFC Freedom 250

The White House event closed with Justin Gaethje beating Ilia Topuria to finally grow to be undisputed UFC lightweight champion in his third attempt.

On Paramount+ in the US and Latin America, the event peaked at 17 million viewers, matching what was achieved by Ronda Rousey’s MMA comeback on Netflix in May.

In accordance with former fighter-turned-analyst Michael Chiesa, the promotion will need certainly one of the White House headliners and the game’s biggest-ever star to collide in the event that they are to have any likelihood of replicating that level of interest.

“Conor McGregor vs. Justin Gaethje, if Conor beats Max Holloway, does it get much greater than that straight away? That’s the matchup to make by way of bringing in eyes.

“It’s the one thing that may compete with the White House, is Gaethje and Conor,” he added.

Gaethje will attend McGregor’s UFC 329 return against Holloway, which headlines International Fight Week in Las Vegas on July 11.

‘The Highlight’ seems less keen on rematching ‘Blessed’, having just defeated a person who knocked the Hawaiian out.

But Gaethje has long targeted a showdown with McGregor, and he may look to finally make that a reality if the Irishman has his hand raised following a five-year layoff from MMA competition.
