John Cena retired from in-ring motion in December 2025 as a 17-time WWE World Champion, a record that many fans have predicted won’t ever be broken.
Cena broke the record he had previously shared with Ric Flair at WrestleMania 41 in April 2025, where the ‘GOAT’ of WWE defeated Cody Rhodes.
During a recent edition of the “Something to Wrestle” podcast, former Cena rival JBL reflected on Randy Orton potentially reaching 18 World Titles or more. He said,
“He may find yourself holding the championship more times than anybody. He’s at what 15 immediately is what he’s, or 14, whatever it’s. A pair more, he ties Cena. I feel there’s a very good probability he does it and I feel he should.”
Orton is currently a 14-time WWE World Champion, together with his most up-to-date reign going down in late 2020 when he ended Drew McIntyre’s first reign.
Triple H can be a 14-time World Champion, though his in-ring profession got here to an end in 2022 because of serious health issues suffered the previous yr.
Through the podcast, JBL recalled commentating a match of Orton’s, saying that the Legend Killer impressed in a time when matches weren’t great. He said,
“Randy, when he got here out and he throws a punch within the corner, that old Bob Orton punch, that looked so freaking good. The place just form of perked up, and impulsively the entire show modified, but it surely modified due to Randy. Randy’s just got a lot freaking talent. I do think he’s certainly one of the best of all time.”
