Young India pacer Gurnoor Brar has been issued an official warning for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct through the first ODI against England in Birmingham on July 14. The 26-year-old was found guilty of throwing the ball at or near a player in an inappropriate or dangerous manner, breaching the ICC Code of Conduct.
The incident occurred within the eighth over of England’s innings after the hosts opted to bat first. While fielding, Brar collected the ball and threw it dangerously towards the striker. Along with the warning, he received one demerit point, marking the primary demerit point of his international profession and throughout the past two years.
Brar admitted to the offence and accepted the sanction imposed by Match Referee Richie Richardson, eliminating the necessity for a proper hearing.
