Why Conor McGregor couldn’t survive his latest injury 

Conor McGregor managed to beat Max Holloway by decision, despite tearing his ACL after they first fought in 2013.

Unfortunately, ‘Mystic Mac’ was unable to proceed when he suffered an identical injury during their rematch.

McGregor explained the important thing differences between the 2 knee injuries during an impromptu fan Q&A on Friday.

“The primary fight was midway thru the second round and we were positioned on the canvas where there was no weight bearing needed,” the Irishman tweeted on Friday.

“It was also the left leg which is my back leg in fighting stance. Whenever you strike you progress onto your lead leg so the effect was less. I used to be capable of strike sufficiently and enter to a takedown.

“This current one was my lead leg. The appropriate leg. Every movement was effected.

“It was also not me who was calling for the fight to be waved.”

The 38-year-old MMA legend has already suggested that he might want to undergo surgery to repair the damage.
