“With anything in life, you are taking the great with the bad,” he said in December 2025. “You accept that there are some sacrifices and there are some superb things that come together with it too.”

While JD admitted that navigating rumors about his marriage may very well be “tough,” he revealed that Usha also made light of the situation by joking about leaving her wedding ring behind before a public outing.

It’s not even well worth the trip to run back upstairs.’ So we even have somewhat little bit of fun with it. And we thought that whole viral social media cycle was form of funny.”

Prior to the marital speculation, Usha opened up about her and JD’s family plans.

“I don’t think we might have gotten married if we didn’t each know that we were going to have kids,” she told Meghan McCain during a June 2025 episode of the “Citizen McCain” podcast. “We each independently were very fascinated about it, in order that was never in query. By the point we were married, we knew we were going to have kids. The number, though, that was the query.”

She continued: “I believe what we had decided on the outset is, ‘We’ll have two, after which we’ll see how we feel after that.’ I believed, perhaps, I’d have two kids and would think I’m done, but I just liked having the 2 kids a lot that I believe I ended up being the motive force for 3.”
