Never a dull moment nowadays within the gaming industry as developers hope to dodge a bullet with a studio closure, and the developers behind EXODUS have reason for a sigh of relief. Hasbro has just published its latest financials, which have revealed that some untitled projects have been put out to pasture before their time. This unlucky trend has been somewhat rampant in recent weeks following the large layoffs at Xbox. Archetype Entertainment, a studio formed by ex-BioWare staff and other reputable veterans, which is predicated in Texas, where various studio closures have happened, is the studio behind EXODUS.

“Welcome to Archetype Entertainment, a game development studio situated in Austin, Texas, led by industry veterans from BioWare, 343, Electronic Arts, Naughty Dog, and other leading AAA studios.”

Perhaps given their diversity, a few of those folks from id Software or Arcane Austin might give you the option to seek out a brand new home at Archetype. Meanwhile, Hasbro has said it’s cancelling multiple game projects so it might give attention to its well-established tabletop and trading card franchises, particularly Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons. Speaking of D&D, Warlock, a brand new single-player third person game that’s been in development by INVOKE, is the opposite title alongside EXODUS that escaped the chopping block.

Warlock description:

“In WARLOCK, you are taking on the role of Kaatri, a veteran warrior, in a brand new third-person action-adventure set in a dark fantasy open world inspired by Dungeons & Dragons. Make a pact to wield forbidden magic to beat a big selection of challenges. In exploration, every spell is a key that unlocks mysteries in a good looking yet unsettling world. When facing enemies, magic and melee mix for a combat experience that’s each tactical and visceral.”

Each EXODUS and Warlock are expected to launch for PC and consoles in 2027 and may very well be amongst the numerous games that can be shown at Gamescom 2026 next month.
