Pamela Anderson Addresses ‘Baywatch’ Reboot Return Rumor

Pamela Anderson is addressing the likelihood of someday donning her iconic red swimsuit for Fox’s Baywatch reboot.

“Nobody’s reached out to me. I don’t know much about it,” Anderson, 59, revealed to Deadline in an interview published on Friday, July 24. “I do know that they were talking to my sons [Brandon Lee and Dylan Lee] sooner or later about producing, but I don’t think they’d a gathering of the minds. I’m undecided what happened there, but I wish them well.”

She went on, “It was an amazing job, and I loved going to work daily on the beach. I’d have been there anyway. On the time, it taught me loads, and it gave me worldwide exposure. Every little thing I’ve done has led me to here, which is a blessing. But I even have no plans of going back to Baywatch.”

Anderson skyrocketed to fame while starring on the classic ‘90s motion TV series as lifeguard C. J. Parker. She last reprised the role for a cameo in Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron’s 2017 movie reboot.

After booking the lead role on Fox’s Baywatch reboot, Stephen Amell broke his silence about possible cameos from OGs Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff. “After all we could [have them],” Amell, 44, exclusively told Us Weekly on the Baywatch red carpet on Wednesday, February 18, after prospective actors auditioned for roles at an open casting […]

Fox’s latest incarnation of Baywatch is led by newcomers Brooks Nader, Shay Mitchell and Noah Beck, though Anderson’s ‘90s costars David Chokachi, Michael Bergin and Erika Eleniak can even reprise their roles from the classic show.

Asked whether she was inquisitive about what her character C.K. was thus far, Anderson replied, “If my kids were involved, I probably would have listened to them. I believe I’ve just got to maintain on seeing what else is on the market.”

“I get that there’s a number of really great TV on the market right away, but I’ve already done that. Now’s my time to essentially play with different characters,” she added. “I don’t want to simply fill my time until the tip of the 12 months. I even have options, and a few things I’m fascinated with, including some theater again. I need to make really daring decisions. I would like to surprise people. I would like to surprise myself. And so I’m attempting to do things I haven’t done up to now.”

Anderson is in the course of a profession renaissance, having received award season buzz for her 2024 comeback movie The Last Showgirl. Last 12 months, her reboot of cult classic comedy franchise The Naked Gun with Liam Neeson made greater than $100 million on the box office.

The actress is now promoting the comedic thriller Rosebush Pruning, during which she plays the matriarch of a wealthy, dysfunctional family. Her upcoming drama Place to Be — starring opposite Ellen Burstyn and Taika Waititi — will premiere on the Venice International Film Festival in September.

Meanwhile, Fox’s reimagining of Baywatch has faced some backlash for casting models and influencers alongside established actors. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covergirl Nader, 29, strongly defended the brand new Baywatch solid shortly after the project was announced.

“I believe that the times are different and everyone seems to be so multi-hyphenate now, and you’ll be able to be each an actor and an influencer and have influence,” she told the Day by day Mail earlier this 12 months. “And that’s the fantastic thing about the culture that social media has created.”

Baywatch was given a straight-to-series order and is predicted to premiere on Fox through the 2026-2027 TV season.
