GLOBE TELECOM, Inc. has partnered with Japan’s telecommunications and digital services company KDDI Corp. to explore recent mobile, retail, and digital services within the Philippines.
“This strategic partnership with KDDI gives us the chance to learn from certainly one of the world’s most advanced telco and digital ecosystems, while bringing Globe’s deep understanding of the Filipino customer to the table. Together, we aim to explore recent ways to make mobile services more relevant,” Globe President and Chief Executive Officer Carl Raymond R. Cruz said in a media release on Sunday.
Under the partnership, the businesses will explore opportunities to expand mobile services, retail offerings, and digital solutions.
Through the collaboration, Globe may even assess KDDI’s business model in Japan, including revenue streams that integrate telecommunications with financial, entertainment, lifestyle, and other digital services.
“As we glance toward 2027 and beyond, our goal is to create value that goes beyond connectivity and helps construct a stronger, more inclusive digital ecosystem for the country,” Mr. Cruz said.
Globe said KDDI’s expertise is anticipated to enrich its network capabilities and market reach within the Philippines.
“For Globe, the partnership is disruptive because it transforms ways for purchasers to experience the brand and construct a digital ecosystem that delivers greater value, convenience, and care,” the corporate said. — Ashley Erika O. Jose
