In a Facebook post, Gabrielle Cheyenne pushed back against claims that she didn’t need to be on stage, saying, “First off NOBODY is declining to go on stage.” She explained that she and her mother had floor seats before being moved to VIP ahead of the show and said they didn’t know what she could be brought on stage for. Cheyenne also questioned why viewers expected her to react a certain way, adding that the moment was an exciting opportunity and telling critics they weren’t used to experiences like that. Her mother also joined in on the conversation, sharing a photograph of Cheyenne with Usher’s wife while showing support for her daughter amid the net reactions.
In a Facebook post, she wrote:

My mom and I had FLOOR SEATS. Their team approached us and moved us to VIP before the show even began !! PRETTY PRIVILEGES something you won’t ever learn about!!
