Conor McGregor shares ‘proud’ moment as son begins Jiu-Jitsu training

After a span of 5 years, Conor McGregor recently returned to MMA at UFC 329 against Max Holloway. Nevertheless, McGregor’s comeback didn’t go in keeping with plan because the Irishman suffered an injury just seconds into the fight. He was soon ruled out of motion and declared unfit to fight.

McGregor later announced an ACL and meniscus injury, for which he’s scheduled to undergo surgery. Later spotted limping out of the sector, McGregor uploaded a healthful photo on his social media, where he was spotted relaxing together with his young son. “The Notorious One” later also uploaded a workout video, which raised fans’ hopes regarding McGregor’s comeback.

Now, just days after uploading the previous two posts, McGregor is again back on social media with one other positive family update. McGregor notified his fans about his son, Conor Jr. starting his Jiu-Jitsu training.

“Proud father and McGregor family moment,” McGregor wrote. “My son Conor Jr trained today on the legendary [Art of Jiu-Jitsu] school in Costa Mesa. An incredible facility and one of the respected systems on this planet.

“He got to roll alongside Ace Mendes, son of the founder and 4x IBJJF World Champion Gui Mendes (IBJJF Hall of Fame). Together together with his brother Rafael, the Mendes brothers built AOJ after collecting 10 world titles between them. The academy has gone on to provide a remarkable lineage of champions – Tainan Dalpra, Johnatha Alves, Mayssa Bastos, Jessa Khan, Cole Abate, and the Funegra twins Ashlee and Mia, each IBJJF World Champions who began as young kids on this same room. Outstanding! The usual here is elite for a reason. Champions are forged through this technique each day. Great session. Great environment. The form of place that leaves an enduring mark on a young athlete. Grateful for the chance and the teachings,” McGregor concluded.

McGregor is the daddy to 4 children together with his wife, Dee Devlin: Conor Jr. (born 2017), Croía (born 2019), Rían (born 2021), and Mack (born 2023).
