Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling Adopt Rescue Dog Charlie

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling’s family is getting paw-sitively furrier.

“Introducing Charlie, our newest member of our familia,” Mendes, 52, wrote via Instagram on Friday, July 31, sharing pics of herself cuddled as much as a gray dog. “We’re in love! Gracias to @californiadoodlerescues ♥️.”

Mendes and Gosling, 45, who’ve been together since 2011, haven’t offered any additional insight into their private life after rescuing Charlie. They adopted one other canine from the identical organization, a dog named Magic, in 2024.

Years before adopting Charlie and Magic, Mendes and Gosling shared rescue pup George, who died in 2016.

“He passed away in December. It’s funny to say ‘dog’ because … there was something about George where I believe he felt like being a dog was beneath him,” Gosling said on the now-defunct Ellen DeGeneres Show in October 2017, announcing that the 17-year-old dog had died. “He wouldn’t do tricks. For those who wanted him to take a seat down, you needed to persuade him it was in his best interest.”

The Project Hail Mary star added on the time, “George, as he began to age, began looking like an aging rock star. He was form of skinny-fat and he had big hair, you understand, no teeth, open sores, but still sexy. … One time we were at an out of doors restaurant and he was sitting on the pavement looking forlorn down the road. Someone got as much as go to the restroom, and he, I assume, had enough and he got up onto their seat and sat down on the table like a gentleman and looked across the table like, ‘Yeah, that’s right.’”

Along with Mendes and Goslings’ four-legged companions, the longtime couple are parents of daughters Esmeralda, 11, and Amada, 9.

“I hope I don’t look back in 20 years and go, ‘Oh, shoot,’ because I actually don’t want to boost by fear,” Mendes said on a 2024 episode of the “Parenting & You” podcast, revealing she hoped to boost her kids in another way than how she grew up. “I get emotional over it since it’s so not fair to the youngsters. I hope that I’m not unknowingly putting some pressure on them through fear like I used to be raised.”

Gosling has also been candid about becoming a parent, telling the Wall Street Journal later that yr how he now not has an interest in portraying admittedly “dark” acting roles.

“I don’t really take roles which might be going to place me in some sort of dark place,” the Barbie actor told the outlet. “This moment is what I feel like attempting to read the room at home and feel like what will be best for all of us. The selections I make, I make them with Eva and we make them with our family in mind first.”
