Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press appeared on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio on Wednesday and was asked in regards to the Dylan Larkin trade situation and whether things have modified now with the news that Steve Yzerman is stepping down as GM.

He didn’t carry that team into the playoffs. I mean, a part of that blame is on him. So I just think it’s unlucky. I don’t know if this will be walked back. It’s been two months, and I don’t know in the event that they can pull off a (Zach) Werekenski (Don) Waddell miracle.”

But I actually have to think sooner or later in time that whoever takes this job goes to want the chance to seek advice from him and say, “Okay, it is a recent path. This can be a recent world. Is there a way that we will solve this problem internally?
Because I believe for the Red Wings, that’s the higher path.”
