East Zone have announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2026-27, with teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi among the many standout selections. India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan will lead the side, while Suryavanshi has been appointed vice-captain.
The squad also features experienced pacer Mohammed Shami, who has been out of the national setup in recent months. Other distinguished names include Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shahbaz Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Kumar Kushagra, and Anukul Roy.
Along with the major squad, five standby players have also been named.

East Zone will face North East Zone within the Duleep Trophy quarterfinal at BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 2, Bengaluru, with the four-day match set to start on August 23. The opposite quarterfinal will see North Zone tackle West Zone, while Central Zone and South Zone have already secured direct spots in the primary and second semifinals, respectively.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Earned Player Of The Tournament Honours In Zimbabwe
Vaibhav Suryavanshi enjoyed a formidable outing in India’s recently concluded T20I series in Zimbabwe, helping the visitors seal a 3-0 clean sweep. The 15-year-old finished because the leading run-getter with 151 runs in three matches at a median of 50.33 and a strike rate of 196.10, including two fifties.
His outstanding performances earned him the Player of the Tournament award. In first-class cricket, Suryavanshi has played eight matches, scoring 207 runs in 12 innings at a median of 17.25, with one half-century.
The left-handed batter made his first-class debut for Bihar against Mumbai within the 2024 Ranji Trophyon the age of 12 years and 284 days, becoming the youngest Indian to realize the feat since 1986.
