An elderly woman has been confirmed OK after police were called to her home for a welfare check, only to seek out her playing video games–and attempting to break a private record.
News 5 Cleveland reports that authorities were dispatched to the lady’s home on April 9 after she didn’t answer a call from an automatic welfare-check system. This was a part of the town’s use of the “Confirm OK” system, whereby people can conform to get calls for welfare checks.
The lady didn’t answer these calls, or a call from a police dispatcher. Authorities then called the lady’s daughter to substantiate that her mother must have been home on the time. Police then went to the house for a wellness check and initially “became more alarmed” because the lady didn’t answer their knock.
