Saros Details PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro Features

With Saros just two weeks away from its April 30 launch, Housemarque has shared details on how the sport takes advantage of PlayStation 5 hardware. The studio has been constructing toward this moment because it first revealed the sport in February 2025, and based on what we’ve seen from the gameplay reveal and up to date hands-on previews, it’s shaping as much as be considered one of the 12 months’s biggest releases.

On PlayStation 5 Pro, Housemarque has upgraded to the most recent version of the PSSR upscaler released in March, delivering a picture that the studio says is barely distinguishable from native 4K. The bottom render resolution before upscaling has also been increased on PlayStation 5 Pro, leading to a sharper image at 60 FPS in comparison with the usual PlayStation 5. Each consoles run the sport at a locked 60 FPS during gameplay, with the one exception being key story cinematics, which drop to 30 FPS to push higher quality character models, lighting, and post-processing at peak resolution.

Constructing on what it achieved with Returnal, Housemarque has evolved its use of the PlayStation 5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech, promising a more immersive soundscape when using compatible headphones or a 3D audio setup. The DualSense wireless controller also plays a major role in combat. Pulling L2 halfway prompts a weapon’s alt fire, which might range from grenade launchers to ricochet projectiles, while pulling all of it the way in which down triggers the Eclipse-driven Power Weapon for a devastating attack using energy absorbed by the Soltari Shield.

Those that need to jump in early can grab the Digital Deluxe Edition for 48-hour early access ahead of the April 30 launch, together with celebration suits inspired by Returnal, God of War, and Ghost of Yōtei. Preordering either edition unlocks the Hands of Shore Armour.
