IPL 2026: Priyansh Arya’s 93 Powers Punjab Kings To Record-Breaking Victory Over LSG

PBKS IPL 2025 Full Player List: Punjab Kings Updated Squad With Complete Details

In Match 29 of IPL 2026, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) continued their unbeaten run with a dominant 54-run victory over the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA Stadium in Mullanpur. After being put in to bat by LSG captain Rishabh Pant, Punjab delivered a masterclass in power-hitting, posting a colossal 254/7 of their 20 overs.

This rating stands as the best team total of the 2026 season to this point, surpassing Royal Challengers Bangalore’s 250. The centerpiece of the Punjab innings was a record-breaking second-wicket partnership between Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly, who dismantled the Lucknow bowling attack with fearless strokeplay.

Priyansh Arya, who was later named Player of the Match, played a panoramic innings of 93 from just 37 deliveries, a knock that included nine towering sixes and 4 boundaries. He reached his half-century in only 19 balls, laying a solid foundation for the huge total. At the opposite end, Cooper Connolly was equally destructive, smashing 87 off 46 balls with seven sixes and eight fours.

Together, the duo added 182 runs in just 13.2 overs, leaving the LSG bowlers with no answers. Despite a temporary middle-order wobble where Shreyas Iyer was dismissed cheaply by Mohsin Khan, the ending touches were provided by Marcus Stoinis (29) and Shashank Singh (17), ensuring Punjab reached a frightening rating.

Lucknow Starts Strong but Loses Momentum After Badoni’s Dismissal

Lucknow’s chase began with promise as Mitchell Marsh and Ayush Badoni found early boundaries, taking the team to 55/0 in five overs. Nonetheless, the momentum shifted once Vijaykumar Vyshak dismissed Badoni for 35 on the ultimate ball of the powerplay.

Rishabh Pant provided some resistance with a quickfire 43 off 23 balls, but once he fell to Arshdeep Singh, the required run rate climbed beyond reach. Punjab’s bowlers maintained a disciplined line, with Marco Jansen claiming 2/37 and Vijaykumar Vyshak ending with economical figures of 1/30.

LSG was eventually restricted to 200/5 of their 20 overs, as Punjab secured a comprehensive victory to remain at the highest of the points table.
