Pat McAfee – ‘It’s Been A Hell Of A Run. Thank You, Wrestling’

Pat McAfee claims that he suffered several injuries at WWE WrestleMania 42 (Night One) after attacks by Cody Rhodes, Jelly Roll, and later an RKO from Randy Orton.

During a recent edition of his “The Pat McAfee Show,” the previous NFL punter revealed that he injured his neck, hand, and crotch in the course of the chaotic Undisputed Title Match at WWE WrestleMania 42 (Night One). McAfee said,

“I’m wearing this thing (the neckbrace) since I got Jelly Roll’d. I’m wearing this just to maintain it (his neck) secure. They ran scans. I’ll get it back tomorrow morning. I’m very grateful and hopeful that I might be completely healthy. But there may be some soreness, obviously.”

“Got some cuts and bruises, too. Hand right here, cut. I feel that’s since the table exploded. I got some shrapnel, and in some way I got a splinter in my crotch. I feel it’s due to what happened to the table. I mean, there was so much that happened on the market, and I did wish to let everybody know that I’m okay, just in case people were frightened, because I did seem lifeless there for a bit.”

“So I would really like to let everybody know that although the mission was imagined to be Randy Orton saving the business, I feel what happened as an alternative was Cody Rhodes proving he’s the one. His eyeball, this guy’s face, I feel he got a (punch) right to the thing, it sort of cut him open, and I feel there was a punt that happened afterwards that go ahead and swelled up the entire side of his face.

“Cody Rhodes was obviously very admirable. Randy Orton continues to be all the pieces that I said he was, but the excellent news is the business doesn’t must be saved in any case. Good for them. For me, I finished my story. I got here up on the indies. IWA East Coast. I went through development, NXT. I used to be a wrestler, trained by Rip Rogers. Get to WWE. Commentator, pre-shows, wrestled, reffed, managed. Lucky to do all of that. It’s Been A Hell Of A Run. Thank You, Wrestling.”

The WWE WrestleMania 42 (Night One) foremost event served as McAfee’s official sendoff from WWE, because it carried a key stipulation tied to the end result of the match.

McAfee had vowed that if Orton didn’t defeat Rhodes on the grand stage, he would walk away from the corporate for good. When Orton ultimately lost, that promise got here into effect, meaning McAfee was forced to go away WWE under the terms he himself had set before the show.
