The Saudi dealmaker shared an AI-generated Peaky Blinders-style image showing himself on the front of a gaggle of suited figures that appeared to incorporate Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and several other of the game’s leading promoters.
This image post is a masterclass in psychological branding. By leaning into the Peaky Blinders aesthetic, Turki Alalshikh is promoting a fight and positioning himself because the “head of the family” who finally brought order to the chaotic landscape of heavyweight boxing.
This post seems like a definitive “mission completed” statement following the news. With Joshua set to face Kristian Prenga in July as a tune-up after his long layoff, and Fury fresh off his win against Arslanbek Makhmudov, the trail to November is finally clear.
The black-and-white image placed Turki in the center, wearing a flat cap and long coat, while the others stood around him on a cobblestone street. The post used Nick Cave’s Red Right Hand, adding to the gangster theme that made the image spread quickly amongst boxing fans.
While the image is stylized, the figures surrounding Alalshikh are easily recognizable to the seasoned boxing observer.
