Gary Neville urged Manchester United to sign 4 players and ‘trade’ Mason Mount after the Premier League victory over Liverpool.
United qualified for next season’s Champions League and all-but secured third-place within the Premier League with an exciting 3-2 win over Liverpool.

‘Michael Carrick can be very completely happy tonight but I feel he will even be upset deep down that they haven’t gone on to win that game 3-0 or 4-0,’ Neville said on his Sky Sports podcast.
‘They need to have killed that game and put Liverpool to sleep because they were nowhere near this football match. He’s won the sport and that’s crucial thing but Carrick won’t be fooled by a few of what he saw in that second half.
‘He’ll know he must rebuild the defence and midfield. In case you’re going to play 4-4-2, which I’m massively in favour of United doing, you could have to have two very special players in there and have defenders who can play one-on-one.
‘You’re asking plenty of the players. I feel United need a left-back for next season because Luke Shaw has played every game this 12 months and he may struggle. They need a centre-back, 100%, and so they need two midfield players.
‘They’re the 4 priorities immediately. They’re the players I’d take a look at adding to this squad.
‘Look, should you could then perhaps trade Mason Mount for another person who perhaps can play out and in and is usually a bit more flexible across the midfield and forward line then I’d say go for a fifth.
‘But should you can’t, I’d say those 4 areas are the priority and they’ve got to be top-notch, those players.’
