Actor Priya Bapat recently made a candid revelation about an uncomfortable experience she faced through the early stages of her acting profession. Speaking about certainly one of her first movies, the actress recalled how a co-star repeatedly crossed skilled boundaries through the shoot, leaving her unsure of how one can respond on the time.

Reflecting on the project, Priya revealed that she had reservations a couple of kissing scene that was a part of the script. In accordance with her, the priority was never about performing the scene itself but somewhat about its relevance to the story. Priya said, “This was type of my first, first movies. That is all before City of Dreams and the whole lot happened. And there was just one kiss within the film. And I had concerns and doubts about it right from the script reading sessions. And I used to be repeatedly asking the director, why do you wish it here? It is not about whether I need to kiss or no. However it’s nearly… How do you justify it? How do you justify? It just doesn’t fit here.”
Priya explained that despite her reservations, she eventually agreed to the scene after convincing herself that it will help her overcome personal inhibitions. “If it requires and whether it is needed, then I’m open to do it. However it isn’t required. But he was very insistent. And I said, let me also see. I need to interrupt the inhibitions that I even have in my head. Let me just do it and finish it off. I agreed for one, one kiss in the whole film”, she added.
Nevertheless, she alleged that things became uncomfortable through the shoot when the actor allegedly began improvising beyond what had been agreed upon. “After which there have been moments where the actor kept improvising within the song. And he kept kissing me. And me being, I do not know why. I didn’t take a stand for myself at that time of time. Because I didn’t know how one can take care of this”, she shared.
The actress further shared that the situation prolonged beyond the film set. In accordance with Priya, the actor repeatedly contacted her and attempted to satisfy her outside of labor despite her lack of interest. She went on to proceed, “There was no other way. We were staying in the identical hotel. But in fact, different rooms. But then he kept messaging me and asking me to return. And let me teach you how one can swim. Then come, let’s exit for dinner. Can I meet you for the breakfast? And I said, I don’t desire any of this. This has never happened in my life before. And it shouldn’t occur ever again.”

Priya revealed that she was shooting in Bhopal on the time and would speak to her husband, actor Umesh Kamat, every night about what she was experiencing. Eventually, Kamat decided to fly down from Mumbai to be by her side. She also stated, “I didn’t know how one can take care of this. I used to be shooting in Bhopal. And I used to call Umesh every night. This was the one set. And I didn’t ask him to return down. But he flew from Mumbai to Bhopal. He just got here on the set. And he stayed with me for 3 days. Just in order that the actor gets some understanding. And he type of backs off. And he type of understands the boundaries.”
Concluding her account, Priya noted that this stays the one such experience she has faced in her acting journey. “That’s the only experience I even have had up to now in my acting profession.”
