India veteran Rohit Sharma took a pointy catch as fast bowler Prasidh Krishna struck with the very first ball of his spell to dismiss Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz within the third and final ODI on Saturday, June 20, at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The wicket got here on the primary ball of the second over. Krishna bowled a length delivery outside the off stump that moved away after pitching. Gurbaz went for a drive through the covers but got a thick outside edge, and Rohit made no mistake with a superb catch at first slip.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s innings was cut short as he scored just five runs from seven balls, including one boundary. His dismissal left Afghanistan at 5/1 after 1.1 overs.
Prasidh Krishna Leads Afghanistan Collapse as 4 Wickets Fall in Powerplay
After selecting to bat first, Afghanistan got off to a poor start as Rahmanullah Gurbaz was dismissed for five within the second over. Prasidh Krishna struck again within the sixth over, removing Rahmat Shah for five off 15 balls, with Rohit Sharma taking a pointy catch at first slip.
Krishna continued to bother the batters, dismissing Ibrahim Zadran for 11 within the eighth over. Rohit accomplished his third catch within the slips to assist India tighten their grip on the match. The fast bowler then picked up his fourth wicket within the tenth over, sending Darwish Rasooli back for only one run as Afghanistan slipped to 36/4 in 9.2 overs.
