Vaibhav Suryavanshi endured a transient stay on the crease on his T20I debut, unable to make a significant impact. The 15-year-old managed 14 runs from 10 deliveries before being dismissed by Will Jacks after India opted to bat first at Old Trafford Cricket Ground within the second T20I of the series.
His innings began brightly, with two impressive sixes showcasing his attacking intent, but he couldn’t construct on the promising start. England’s spin attack eventually found a breakthrough when Jacks cleverly delivered a flat ball outside off stump after noticing the opener advance down the track within the fifth over.
Attempting to chop the delivery, the left-hander was beaten completely, allowing wicketkeeper Jos Buttler to execute a pointy stumping and hand the hosts their first wicket. Suryavanshi lost his balance while attempting to get his foot back contained in the crease and ended up falling to the bottom.

Together with his T20I debut, Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history by becoming the youngest Indian to feature in international cricket. In doing so, he surpassed the long-standing record of Sachin Tendulkar, who made his Test debut on the age of 16 years and 205 days.
Double Blow For India As Vaibhav Suryavanshi And Abhishek Sharma Fall Early
India made a powerful start with the bat but suffered a double setback near the top of the powerplay, losing each openers, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma, in quick succession. Suryavanshi was the primary to fall, departing within the fifth over.
Abhishek continued his nice form with one other invaluable contribution, scoring 43 off 24 deliveries before getting out on the ultimate ball of the powerplay. He attempted to clear the midwicket boundary off a low full toss from Sam Curran but did not time it cleanly, with Tom Banton completing the catch within the deep.
India ended the powerplay at 65/2. The five-match series stays level at 0-0 after the primary T20I was abandoned resulting from rain, with India having posted 189/7 of their 20 overs.
