Conor McGregor posted a screenshot of his World Cup final bet slip on Saturday evening.
It showed he’s placed $100,000 on Argentina securing a 3-2 win over Spain contained in the allotted 90 minutes of playing time.
In a follow-up post, McGregor explained what convinced him to make the wild World Cup wager.
‘Notorious’ referenced a viral tweet from five years ago, which saw someone predict Argentina would beat Spain 3-2 within the 2026 World Cup final.
“What’s up, folks? Conor McGregor here with my World Cup final bet,” McGregor said in a video.
“The bet can be Argentina to beat Spain throughout the 90 minutes, 3-2.
“Why am I doing this? Five years ago, some guy on the web predicted that Argentina and Spain can be within the World Cup final and that the rating can be 3-2. How did this guy know that these boys can be in the ultimate? After which they’re. After which that the rating is 3-2.
“I’m going with him. Some guy on the web, bring it home for me, baby. Let’s go!”
