Lataa Saberwal Reveals Secretly Visiting Hina Khan During Cancer Battle
When asked about her co-star Hina Khan and her cancer journey, Lataa Saberwal shared, “So, we used to go to her without telling anyone, which I never mentioned to anybody. Jitna bhi ho sakta tha, jab unke convenience ke hisaab se possible hota tha, hum unse milne jaate the. And definitely, messaging and all woh sab bhi karte the, because aise time par aap kisi ko bahut zyada disturb bhi nahi kar sakte. Insaan khud hi itna pareshan hota hai. Remainder of what you said, I don’t need to comment on that. But yes, she has battled it very, thoroughly. By God’s grace, may God bless all of us with good health and happiness.”
She continued, “Lekin agar aap kisi hospital mein jaoge, toh aapko anaginat patients milenge jo isi cheez se battle kar rahe hain. Haan, unhone sabko encourage kiya, and that’s a excellent thing. Lekin agar baalon ki baat karein, ya chemotherapy ki, ya uss journey ki, toh bahut saare patients har roz uss phase se guzarte hain. Celebrities ki journey sabko dikh jaati hai, lekin baaki logon ki takleef sirf unke gharwalon tak hi seemit reh jaati hai. Shayad unke gharwale bhi rote honge, aur woh insaan bhi rota hoga, lekin woh duniya ko dikhai nahi deta, kyunki woh public position mein nahi hai. But all I would really like to say is that she inspired many, many individuals to fight it in a positive way.”
About Hina Khan’s Cancer Journey
Hina Khan was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in June 2024 after discovering a lump through self-examination, highlighting the importance of early detection, especially given her family’s cancer history. She has been openly transparent about her aggressive treatment, which included multiple rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and has documented her journey, including hair loss and her decision to shave her head together with her family’s support.
Throughout her battle, she maintained a positive and resilient mindset, emphasising “mind over matter” and continuing her skilled commitments while embracing her scars as symbols of strength. Her partner, Rocky Jaiswal, showed unwavering support, even shaving his head in solidarity.
