Erika Deloria able to thrive as Galeries’ go-to scorer

MANILA, Philippines — Erika Deloria embraces the challenge of becoming Galeries Tower’s go-to scorer after a rousing debut within the 2026 PVL on Tour in Batangas.

Deloria erupted for twenty-four points to guide Galeries Tower to a 25-17, 24-26, 25-19, 26-24 win over Farm Fresh on Saturday on the Batangas City Sports Coliseum.

As Galeries continues to construct on its young roster, Deloria vows to maintain delivering the products with the added responsibility she has now.

“I treated it as each a challenge and a chance—for myself and for the team,” Deloria said in Filipino after also tallying 13 excellent receptions and 10 digs. 

“Greater than anything, I used to be eager about the team because I would like us to win together. Whatever I can do to assist, irrespective of how hard the training is, I’ll do it for the team.”

Deloria, a former second-round pick of the defunct Chery Tiggo in last yr’s draft, relished the large preseason win against Farm Fresh, which made a breakthrough semifinals appearance last All-Filipino Conference and in addition produced a Season MVP in Trisha Tubu.

“It’s really heartwarming because, as everyone knows, Farm Fresh is considered one of the contenders,” the Enderun Colleges product said. “We felt that each one the exertions we put in in the course of the offseason finally paid off. Galeries coach Aying Esteban lauded the team’s growth and renewed mindset after reaching the second phase of the Play-In within the All-Filipino last April.

“The largest change has been their mentality, especially in training,” Esteban said in Filipino. “I’m joyful because they never get uninterested in the work we’re asking them to do. I’m really grateful for his or her commitment and the trouble they’re putting in for the team.”

The Highrisers will try to construct on the strong start of their next PVL On Tour project against the Nxled Chameleons on August 1 in Polomolok, South Cotabato.
