Within the 67th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a commanding 55-run victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Despite the heavy defeat, RCB managed a net run rate buffer sufficient to take care of their top position on the points table, ensuring an advantageous path into the playoffs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first on a positive batting pitch. Openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma initiated an aggressive start. Head scored a brisk 26 runs off 16 deliveries before his dismissal by bowler Rasikh Salam Dar.
Following this, Abhishek Sharma accelerated the scoring rate significantly, registering a half-century with 56 runs off just 22 deliveries, an innings that featured 4 boundaries and five sixes. The momentum sustained as Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen formed a highly effective 113-run partnership.
Kishan anchored the innings with a top-scoring performance of 79 runs from 46 balls, hitting eight boundaries and three sixes. Meanwhile, Klaasen contributed a rapid 51 runs off 24 deliveries, which included five sixes.
Nitish Kumar Reddy remained unbeaten with a fast 29 runs off 12 balls, allowing SRH to post a formidable total of 255/4 of their allotted 20 overs. Listed here are some twitter reactions:
